You have a bright idea, you have created a full plot around this idea and you have written your outline. In fact, you are already writing your novel. As you go on writing, though, it becomes pretty tiring. Everyday, after living life like a usual citizen, you always have to stop to write lots of paragraphs and create a realistic world out of complete nothing. Yes, you must spend time living your life in order to write something interesting, but living your life makes your characters less interesting than they are when you are busy writing about them all the time. "It's better to write for the self and have no public than to write for the public and have no self." I came across this quote in my Facebook News Feed once, but I don't remember who posted it. I've Google searched it, but cannot trace its source. One would think that it's just some joke that was made by some word-obsessed writer, but it's actually true. There comes a point in a writer's life when this comes into focus. Despite the movement of reading materials and readers from print to digital, writers are more in-demand than ever. You'd be surprised at how much a writer can earn online these days if he/she has enough persistence, confidence and talent. It's easy to create a following now that we have better control over our reputation via the Internet. More options means more publicity, more publicity means more viewers and more viewers means more cash. All of these lead to even more work. A writer won't earn much if he doesn't...
